A must have for travel.
My husband bought this travel backpack and once I saw all of the amazing features I had to get one for myself.

Best bag ever
I was touristing in San Francisco, looking to pick up a back pack among the eclectic designer brand shops in Hayes Valley. Peak caught my eye as a store but I felt they were more specialist camera packs than daily user bags. The guys in the store told me I should check out their bags. Functional, monotone, less cool looking than many of the bags I was interested in I realized I was dealing with a level of technical thought and detail in the design of the Peak backpack that I had never run across. Varying material weights, I unstable pockets, access points, security options. Details, details details. As I thought about my beloved Patagonia backpack that, after 12 years, still bugged me with its ungainly zippers and poorly designed pockets I decided I could justify a larger travel backpack with Peak. I love this pack. I know. Love is an overused word in reviews. But if love is when you delight in the function, feel and intelligence of an object then I love this pack. Yes. It’s expensive. Yes, it isn’t exactly cool looking. No, it is t a huge brand statement like many others. What it is is something so brilliantly designed that it will make your life better. That is peak design. That is peak backpack. Well done. Go buy one. You won’t regret it.

This is it! Finally I have found my BEST go-to bag
This is one beautiful, cleverly crafted and tough travel bag. Designed to the detail with SO MANY specifics that are PERFECT for the frequent traveller! I love the way that all the Peak Design cubes and other products work together with this one. As someone who has been mobile since 1977 and without a home of our own since April 2019 I have spent YEARS looking for the bag that ticks all the boxes and serves well in comfortable and rustic, rough places!

Great Travel Backpack
This backpack is loaded with features has plenty of room for multiple days of travel. I have had it fully packed and was able to easily fit it into the overhead compartment on multiple flights.

Lots of features, protection and organisation
I have used it as a carry on for 4 years + whenever I need to haul loads of stuff. After 4 years of loading it, the main zipper did develop an issue but I got a replacement from the warranty right away. Definitely appreciate the weather resistance (never noticed any water getting inside) The big con is it's weight. So I wouldn't really recommend as day pack or backpacking trip. For my travels I brought a packable backpack inside. Would be perfect if they managed to reduce the weigh without sacrificing ruggedness

Great versatile travel backpack
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 45 liter Rachel backpack
I bought this Peak Design travel backpack last year for a trip with multiple stops and then recently bought a second one for my daughter for an extended trip to Africa. The size works great for my daughter who is 4’11” and equally well for my husband who is 5’10”. The ability to change from 30 liters to 45 liters is great for easy carry-on and the hideaway strap system works well if you need to check in when fully expanded to 45 liters. highly recommend this travel backpack.

Changed the way I travel
Absolutely love this pack. Having only traveled with small backpacks in the past, I had no how much I could fit in a backpack. I know it's designed as a carryon but I've used it as my personal item on many domestic US flights with no problem. Just barely fits under airplane seats and has lots of room for packing both my tech and clothes. Combined with the PD packing cubes I've found myself not needing to bring an additional carryon suitcase on shorter trips.

Excellent quality & sturdiness
I bought this bag to have as a carry on item on my trip to Japan. When paired with the packing cubes (I got 2, 1 small, 1 medium) it really feels like you can pack a lot more for it's size, it felt abit like cheating. Of course, that meant that it ended up being much heavier than a carry on with all the compressed clothes, but the weight was manageable, especially with the hip belt. Additionally, because we visited a few cities I used it as a single travel bag. I really tested the capacity there, I was able to fit a laptop, small packing cube medium packing cube, wash pouch, tech pouch and shoe pouch, the bag looked bloated, & heavy, but it was impressive how much it could carry (with the extension open 45L). I have the sage, I had some concerns about the colour, but I ended liking it a lot. I found that rolling up the organizational separator was a huge deal. Having it on meant that I could organise a lot of smaller things and it was easier to pack an overshirt in the front compartment. While, when it was stowed away and especially when the bag was fully expanded, meant that i could carry difficult to fit items like boxes. The flexibility of having 3 different sizes in one, is not to be underrated, and sometimes I started the day with the smallest size and ended up expanding to fit gifts or extra clothes. I also found use for the outside straps, usually for jackets, typically items that take to much space inside the bag and that you would want to reach easily. From a design standpoint, everything was excellent. The only concern that I had was that packing bulky items on the front access, especially near the base meant that the magnets on the front bottom side that hold the straps and waterproof cover (wildfly) could not reach each other. In summary, really impressed with the quality, the fabric and the design. I started using as an everyday carry as well cause it is very convenient. But recently I've been thinking of getting a smaller 20L one, for more versatility.

Great Flexibility
Great product. Initially I thought it was a little big, but as I put the camera cubes in as well as other items it is great. With the addition of different cubes it is very flexible for travel. I have the 30 liter backpack it is fine for day use but tight for travel.
