Why We Like The Patagonia Micro Puff Hooded Insulated Jacket
Patagonia's Micro Puff Hooded Insulated Jacket keeps gram count low and comfort high on wintry backpacking missions and alpine climbing pursuits. Rock's bite and exposure's wind can't break through the rugged exterior, while the ultralight, recycled fill keeps us cozy, trapping heat even when wet.

Classic Patagucci
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Small
- Height:
- 5' 9"
- Weight:
- 150
It's got the right specs, the best materials, is well-made, and very expensive of course ... and looks straight out of the 70's. It's so retro my wife laughed because she thought I bought it used on E-Bay. (I'm normally a Md but bought Sm because I wanted maximum warmth/weight).

Different From Old Models
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- L
- Height:
- 5' 11"
- Weight:
- 182
I have the same jacket from 2020 and things are definitely different here. The jacket has become considerably thinner, and strangely smaller. I am 5 11 and 182 lb, and L seems tight. An awkward seam runs on the upper back, making it incredibly uncomfortable. It was perfect before, why change? I noticed the pattern with Patagonia, and their new things are not as good as before. Sad.

Would not recommend
It looks good. It's warm. What I don't like is the insulation fibers come out where the treads are. I sent the first one back thinking it was a flute. The one they exchanged it with is doing the same after I wore it a couple times

Best of all worlds

Warm, light, and breathable. What else could you ask for? Arm holes are a little tight for broad shoulders, needed to size up.
