Why We Like The Talus Pant
Long approach. Winding route. Campsite lounging. The Talus keeps us moving free and feeling good through it all. We high step and stem with ease in the articulated construction and stretchy fibers, while the rear loop keeps our chalk bag at the ready for a little powder courage before the crux. Great but really need one addition
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer

The pants fit and feel great when climbing. Has enough room for all my gear with big pockets. One thing it should have had from the beginning but I had to add on after is an elastic closure on the legs. That way The open leg loops don't get in the way when climbing, fortunately it's a really easy modification to do

Not as good as previous version
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

This is my second pair of Talus pants. In the last five years of so, a few changes have made them not quite as awesome. First, the fit is baggier and larger. They were never slim, so now they're quite floppy. Second, the fabric is maybe a touch thicker and heavier. Third and most important, the pockets are smaller and not positioned as well. The best thing about the old version was the deep deep front and rear pockets. I could store a phone, a couple snacks, and a headlamp on a long route and never worry about them falling out or having my mobility impaired. now i'm not sure where my phone goes as the pockets aren't deep enough. All that said, they're still a synthetic, stretchy climbing pant with four pockets and a drawstring, which elevates them above 90% of the "climbing pants" out there.

Decent Pant With One Annoying Issue
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- S

I like the fit and general feel of this pant. The sizing is generous through the legs which is key for me. Strangely, the waist of the S fits me well although by that metric I should probably be in a size M. The material is comfortable, has a nice stretch and after several months is holding up well. The pockets are voluminous but have no zip closure to secure any important items. The waist has quite a bit of elastic for retention and has a drawcord that must be tied. The waist button is the main issue as it readily saws through its thread; using this pant for any length of time will require replacing this button with something else (the metal one has sharp edges right where the thread lies). This may not seem like a huge problem overall, but a pant that retails for $100 really should do better. If sewing a button isn't an issue, these are worth it.

Who sizes this stuff?
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My waist size is 33 and the size Large pant is uncomfortably snug. I’ve got several pair from previous seasons and they all fit great. These however do not.
